Light Rigid Vehicle
Greater than 4.5 tonnes GVM but equal to or less than 8 tonnes GVM,
Eligibility
- Must have held a class C for at least one year.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Pass a practical driving test or a competency based training course with an authorised examiner
Medium Rigid Vehicle
Any 2-axle vehicle, including truck and bus, greater than 8 tonnes GVM
Eligibility
- Must have held a class C for at least one year.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Pass a practical driving test or a competency based training course with an authorised examiner
Heavy Rigid Vehicle
Any rigid vehicle with 3 or more axles, including trucks and buses, greater than 8 tonnes
Eligibility
- Must have held:
(a) a class C for at least two years or
(b) a class LR or MR for at least one year - Be at least 19 years of age
Heavy Combination Vehicle
Prime mover/single semi or HR plus trailer greater than 9 tonnes GVM
Eligibility
- Must have held class MR or HR for at least one year
- Be at least 20 years of age
